Areas Served:  Ridgecrest, China Lake Acres, Inyokern, Walker Pass, Garlock, Randsburg, Johannesburg and isolated mining towns.

About:  The Ridgecrest Substation covers close to 1026 square miles and is the largest response area in Kern County.  They are committed to work in partnership with the community to enhance the safety, security and quality of life for the residents and visitors of Kern County through professional public safety services.  The substation has 1 sergeant, 1 senior deputy sheriff and 11 deputies.  They perform patrol duties, security for the courthouses and staff the jail, with 1 senior deputy and 4 detention deputies.
