About: The West Valley Area was created in 1969 in Van Nuys to support the Los Angeles Police Department. In 1973, the office moved to its current location in Woodland Hills. The Area office patrols approximately 400 square miles with 260 of those square miles in San Fernando Valley. The West Valley also serves 3 school district, 2 universities and numerous private & public charter schools. The office has educational and outreach programs in all 3 districts along with 53 high schools in the area. The programs include: Every 15 Minutes, Sober Grad, Impact Teen Drivers, Right Turn, StartSmart, Red Ribbon Week, Pedestrian and bicycle safety programs.
